San Francisco Council of District Merchants Associations - Home
Over the past sixty two years, the Council has distinguished itself by drawing together the disparate merchants associations in the neighborhood commercial districts of the City. Together, they have advocated for street lighting, traffic control, parking, and legislation to improve the business climate in the City.

Our members represent a variety of local businesses including an eclectic mix of food and drink, salons, spas, healers, shopping, schools, business services, entertainment and more. Our Mission is to protect, preserve, and promote small businesses in San Francisco.

The San Francisco Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to enter into a partnership with the San Francisco Council of District Merchants, one of San Francisco’s most trusted resources for small businesses in the Bay Area. This partnership will allow both organizations to extend their outreach into the ever-growing small business community, as well as provide more robust resources for small businesses and offer exclusive event opportunities for networking, knowledge enhancement, and more.

The President and members of the San Francisco Council of District Merchants Associations extend to our friends and colleagues at the GGBA, and to the LGBTQ community, our sincere condolences. We share your sadness and grief regarding the senseless killing of so many innocent people in Orlando, Florida, today.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to the families and friends of those who lost their lives inflicted by a deranged person who had no respect for diversity.

We mourn with you but also want to say we will not allow such actions to instil fear in us, or to change what we believe in. Our love for our fellow humans will never be extinguished by such brutality.

Henry Karnilowicz
President
San Francisco Council of District Merchants Associations
